What a year has it been, with ups and downs and real gob smacking twists and turns. 2017 has been one fantastic year when it comes to hitting highs and lows (see: bitcoin). It is the very year that Prince Harry (needs no introduction) and Meghan Markle (who plays the role of Rachel Zane on USA Network’s Suits) announced their engagement and are to be married in 2018. Meghan Markle will become a Duchess by his marriage to Prince Harry.
The value of Bitcoin (BTC, a crypto currency that works on the block chain technology) was not the only thing that bounced. We are going to look at some of the best bounces of 2017 as we move forward into a great 2018.
BUT… before we get to that let us take a look at some of the significant chronological milestones of the year 2017 starting with the month of January and then moving further in no particular order:-
The month in which Donald Trump was sworn in as the 45th President of USA and his son – in – law, Jared Kushner was sworn in as the Senior Advisor to the President. What a day in American History.
2017 was also the year that saw a musical movie by the name of La La Land garner an exquisite amount of attention at the Oscars and the Golden Globes. Emma Stone won the Oscar for Best Actress while Ryan Gosling was among the top contenders for the Oscar for Best Actor which went to Casey Affleck for the emotionally gut wrenching movie, ‘Manchester By The Sea’.
Emma Stone’s namesake, Emma Watson starred in the live – action remake of Disney’s classic fairy tale of ‘Beauty and the Beast’ as Belle alongside Dan Stevens (as Beast), Luke Evans (as Gaston), Josh Gad (as Le Fou), Ewan McGregor (as Lumiere), and Sir Ian McKellen (as Cogsworth) among others.
2017, the year which saw Robert Zimmerman or as he is more popularly known by his stage name, ‘Bob Dylan’ win the Nobel Prize for Literature at a Private ceremony in Stockholm.
This year a lot of fantastic movies also came out which included Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (directed by James Gunn and starring Zoe Saldana, Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Dave Batista, Michael Rooker, Karen Gillan, Pom Klimentoff and Vin Diesel as the voice of everyone’s beloved character Groot), Thor: Ragnarok (directed by Taika Waititi; featuring the legendary Immigrant Song; third installment in the Thor movie franchise), Justice League (directed by Zack Snyder & Joss Whedon and starring Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Henry Cavill, Ray Fisher, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, and Amber Heard as Queen Mera among others). Fans also got to see the trailer for the third Avengers movie (fourth avengers movie if you count Captain America: Civil War as an Avengers movie because it was), Avengers: Infinity Wars trailer which finally revealed Thanos in all his glory.
Netflix also came out with great movies and shows this year which included David Ayer directed Bright (starring Will Smith and Joel Edgerton), Marvel’s The Punisher (starring Jon Bernthal), the fourth season of The Ranch (starring Ashton Kutcher, Elisha Cuthbert, Sam Elliot, Danny Masterson and Wilmer Valderrama), ID – 0 (an anime style show about machines that do inter galactic mining), Neo Yokio (the brainchild of Jaden Smith, you heard that right), and many many others that would probably take an eternity to discuss before which 2017 will already come to an end and 2018 will start without even noticing the annual countdown.
It would be a shame to have read so far and not see what you really came here for. So, getting to the main event of this article for which you really came here.
